I am excited to welcome you back for an awesome school year here at Washington Elementary School. I hope this letter finds you well and that you had a restful and enjoyable summer break. As we prepare to embark on another academic year, I am filled with anticipation and enthusiasm for the opportunities and experiences that lie ahead for our students.
At Washington, we are committed to fostering a nurturing and inclusive environment where every student feels valued, supported, and encouraged to reach their full potential. Our dedicated team of educators and staff have been hard at work over the summer, preparing classrooms and curricula designed to inspire and challenge our students.
Important Dates and Events
- August 2 - Meet the Teacher from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Please come meet your child’s teacher and see their classrooms
- August 2 - Washington Pool Party - Washington students who attend Meet the Teacher will be given a free pass to Open Swim at the Winslow Outdoor Pool. We invite families to join their students at the pool and enjoy one last pool party before school starts.
- August 5 - First Day of School - Students drop off beginning at 7:25 through 7:55. Students are dismissed at 2:15.
- August 6-9 MAP Testing - Reading, Math, and Language for 5th and 6th grade. 5th grade students will also take a test for Science.
- August 9 - First Early Release Friday. Student released at 12:15
- September 10 - School Picture Day
- September 12-13 - Parent Teacher Conferences
Reminders:
Parent Square App will be used for teacher/parent communication.
Current and new students must complete Power School Registration.
